Information Collection and Use
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. This information, which does not identify individual users, is aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc. and is used to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to improve the content of our site.
Printable forms are available for those wishing to register for, or donate to, the Walk from Obesity who do not wish to do so online.

All credit card information is handled in a highly secure manner, and is not retained beyond the time of credit card processing. Your contact information is used to send you requested materials or a donation receipt (if you have made a donation), and to keep you informed about our program work. If we have trouble processing a transaction, this contact information may also be used to get in touch with you.
Your contact information including name, address and e-mail are shared between the two organizations (ASMBS Foundation, Inc. and Obesity Action Coalition, Inc.) but are not sold, distributed or provided to others. Walk from Obesity participants automatically receive the Walk from Obesity E-Newsletter by email. Website visitors may also sign up to receive the newsletter. Each email sent contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving e-newsletters from us. If you wish to do this, simply follow the unsubscribe links at the end of any email.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
Our Commitment To Data Security
The Walk from Obesity website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information under our control. Any forms submitted online that contain personal financial information are submitted via a secure server.
The data housed at Walk from Obesity is kept on secure servers that are not accessible via the Internet or dial-up networks. These computers are protected by extensive network security with very limited access by select personnel charged with protecting the privacy of your records.
